Holy Crap.  What are you doing this week?  Cancel it.  There are too many great events.  AND – the Beer Friends are bottling one of their newest creations – a holiday hopped and spiced IPA.  It’s probably a good idea not even to go to work this week.  You might miss something.

Tuesday, November 29 – Tuesday Night Tasting with Smuttynose Brewing Company @ Bierkraft, Brooklyn:

I told you.  Great events.  Including this one.  Head out to Brooklyn’s most notorious beer bar and store for a sampling of one of New England’s best breweries.  Smuttynose will be pouring tastes (and pints, and growlers) of Big A IPA, Gravitation, Star Island Single and Smuttanator.  The Smuttanator will be poured on cask.  The rest will be on draught with free samples.  It all will be fantastic brew.

Get there early.

Bierkraft is located at 191 5th Avenue between Berkeley and Union Streets, Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Wednesday, November 30 – Dogfish Head Occupies Stag’s Head @ The Stag’s Head, Manhattan:

It’s time an honest conversation of beer equality happened in this country.  While much beer is brewed in this great nation of ours, only an incredibly small minority is brewed as “craft” beer.  The rest is brewed by watered down giants focused on making a profit on billions (trillions?) of gallons of what you might be able to call beer (only by default) that control 99% of the market.  In order to combat such inequality of wealth (and quality itself for that matter) Dogfish Head will be occupying Stag’s Head.

Alright, so a craft brewery occupying the Stag’s Head isn’t the same as a bunch of out-of-work campers occupying Wall Street, but they’ll be bringing some great shit for your brew tasting:

Pangaea
120 Minute
Chateau Jiahu
Sah’tea
Olde School Barleywine
World Wide Stout
Namaste
Immort Ale
Bitches Brew
Burton Baton
60 Minute
Chicory Stout
My Antonia
Hell Hound

There are also rumors that Randall the Enamel Animal on the Immort Ale will be on hand.  Is it true?  Does a beer that contains vanilla and bacon truly exist?  Set up a tent at the Stag’s Head on Wednesday and find out.

The Stag’s Head is located at 252 East 51st Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues, Upper East Side, Manhattan.

Thursday, December 1 – Bronx Pale Ale vs. Victory Hop Devil : Cascade vs. Centennial @ Idle Hands Bar, Manhattan:

Bronx Pale Ale has been on the scene for a bit now.  Victory Hop Devil has owned markets within the reach of the PA brewery for quite a while.  Who will win?  It comes down to the hops and the experts at Idle Hands will differentiate between two of the favorites of American craft brewers: Cascade and Centennial.  Get a crash course on brews from blue collar locales and hops from a red, white and blue country at Idle Hands on Thursday.

Idle Hands is located at 25 Avenue B between 2nd and 3rd Streets, Alphabet City, Manhattan.

Thursday, December 1 – Four Founders at the Fair @ Puck Fair, Manhattan:

Remember a couple weeks ago when there were barely any beer events and everyone had to drink the beer that was regularly on draft?  I do too.  Let’s try to keep forgetting that with this week’s Founders event at Puck Fair.  They’ll be bringing four of their founding beers to Puck Fair, pouring out the Dry-Hopped Cascade Ale, Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale, Centennial IPA and the Breakfast Stout.

Wait, you look disappointed.  Is it because there are only four on draft?  Why don’t you have one of each and then try to convince the world of your disappointment?

Puck Fair is located at 298 Lafayette Street between Houston and Jersey Street, Soho, Manhattan.

Thursday, December 1 – Harpoon Brewery Draft Event @ Bierkraft, Brooklyn:

Two Bierkraft events in one week!?!?  False.  Every night at Bierkraft is an event of craft beer excellence.  This is just the second one they’re labeling this week.  And the second one that you definitely shouldn’t miss.  Harpoon will be bringing some BIG brews and some regularly AWESOME brews.  Check out the list:

UFO
Belgian Pale Ale
Leviathan Quad
Leviathan Barleywine 2010
Chocolate Stout
Spruce Tip Ale
Cider
Leviathan Imperial IPA
Winter Warmer

With a hit list like that one could say that Harpoon deserves their own label.

Bierkraft is located at 191 5th Avenue between Union and Berkeley Streets, Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Friday, December 2 – Founders Night @ The Rye House, Manhattan:

Another Founders Night!?!?!?  This week seems to be the week of twins.  And shouldn’t you be so lucky.  In fact, up until now I bet you were still whining to yourself about all the different Founders you didn’t get to try on Thursday.  Well good thing that Friday is just a day later and Founders is bringing a whole bunch of great brew that you didn’t have on Thursday to the Rye House on Friday.  Check out this lineup:  Breakfast Stout, Backwoods Bastard, Old Curmudgeon, Centennial IPA, Dry Hopped Pale Ale and Red’s Rye.

At this rate of Founder’s consumption you can just combine the two nights together in your mind as one.  Certainly will make it easier to check into Untappd.

The Rye House is located at 11 West 17th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, Flatiron District, Manhattan.
